A major electrical equipment manufacturing central enterprise, mainly engaged in R&D, design, manufacturing, and sales of power generation equipment, deals with complex shape cutting of numerous workpieces, like hydro turbine-generating units, steam turbines, wind turbine units, nuclear power units, and auxiliary equipment.


Project Overview

1.Traditional CNC cutting processes struggle with handling complex surfaces, requiring skilled workers for manual cutting, resulting in low efficiency and challenges in maintaining precision.

2.Manual cutting is subject to the skill level of operators and is influenced by environmental and emotional factors, leading to safety incidents.

3.Traditional cutting processes struggle to achieve refinement, automation, and intelligent management, limiting further improvements in technological processes.


Solution

1. Adopt a six-axis robotic system with high precision, speed, and reliability, allowing flexible adjustments in robot posture and cutting paths for efficient cutting of complex-shaped workpieces.

2. Develop a dedicated thick-plate flame cutting system, achieving digital management of cutting parameters with advantages like fast cutting speed, high efficiency, and low cost.

3. Equip a three-dimensional vision system for quick acquisition of the workpiece's 3D model. This eliminates the need for original drawings, enabling computerized operations throughout the entire process, from workpiece recognition and positioning to robot cutting trajectory programming and cutting parameter matching.

4. Design a cross-arm manipulator as an external axis for robots, expanding the robot's reachable range to enable large-scale continuous cutting of large workpieces.

5. Develop proprietary software control systems with a visual operating interface, an extensive expert process library, and integrated control of the robot, flame cutting system, 3D vision system, and electrical system. This achieves an automated and intelligent cutting process.

The system excels in meeting cutting demands for various intricately-shaped workpieces, including circular, fan-shaped structures, conical tanks, cylindrical bodies, and other complex forms.
