A large state-owned enterprise in rail transit has introduced the LE robotics welding workstation for welding the side and end walls of various types of open-top rail freight cars, achieving high precision, efficiency, and automation. This greatly enhances the welding quality and efficiency, reducing workers' labor intensity and exposure to hazards.
In the maintenance process of open railway freight cars, extensive repair welding work was required due to severe deformation of the carriages. Manual welding was inefficient, with inconsistent quality and the generation of harmful gases affecting worker health.
Introducing advanced LE Robotics Welding Robot, incorporating visual scanning technology and robot control systems, achieved efficient and precise automated welding. The robot in this welding workstation has omnidirectional mobility, autonomous navigation, and positioning. Using visual scanning technology, the robot accurately identifies the position and shape of the weld seam, generates robot posture and trajectory autonomously, matches welding parameters, and perfectly executes the repair welding process for freight carriages.
Automated welding of four types of weld seams on the exterior of the freight carriages was achieved. This system demonstrated high precision, efficiency, and automation, significantly improving welding quality and efficiency, reducing labor intensity, and minimizing hazards.
